Dear God, my Father in Heaven, in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit, please cause this prayer to be in the power of the Holy Spirit.
I praise your name as holy, to be honored. I worship you as my God and ask you to glorify yourself in my life. You are my true Father—my creator, redeemer, sustainer, and the true end of all things, including my life. I love, trust, and worship you. I give myself over to you, Father, to be one with you as Jesus is one with you.
O Lord, you have been our refuge through all generations. Before the mountains were begotten and the earth and the world were brought forth, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (Ps 90:1-2) It is good to give thanks to you, Lord, to sing praise to your name, Most High, to proclaim your kindness at dawn and your faithfulness throughout the night, for you make me glad, O Lord, by your deeds; at the works of your hands, I rejoice. How great are your works, O Lord! How very deep are your thoughts! (Ps 92:2-6) Your throne stands firm from of old; from everlasting to everlasting you are, O Lord. (Ps 93:2)
O Lord, my Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth! (Ps 8:1) I praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I declare your wonders. I am glad and rejoice in you. I praise your name, O Most High. (Ps. 9:1-2) I love you, O Lord, my strength. (Ps 18:1) How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men, on those who take refuge in you. (Ps 31:19) I trust in your steadfast love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. (Ps 13:6) You show me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Ps 16:11)
Holy and victorious Trinity, you alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust, and all the glory of my life. I love you, I worship you. I give myself over to you in my heart’s search for life. You alone are Life, and you have become my life. I renounce all other gods, every idol, and I give to you, God, the place in my heart and my life you truly deserve. This is all about you, and not about me. You are the Hero of this story, and I belong to you.
Holy Spirit, I ask you to lead this time of prayer. In all I now pray, I include everyone I hope my prayers will cover, especially my family. Jesus, I ask you to cover them with your blood—their spirits, souls, bodies, hearts, minds, and will. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to restore them in Jesus and include them in all I now pray. I stand in total agreement with you, Holy Spirit, and with all those praying for me by the spirit of God and by the Spirit of God alone.
Teach me to freely confess any and all sin. Search me and cleanse me of anything displeasing to you. Forgive me as I forgive others. I ask your forgiveness for my every sin. Search me, know, and reveal to me where you are working in my life, and grant to me the grace of your healing and deliverance and deep and true repentance. Forgive my unhealthy attachments to the world and I pray I would look to you as my source. I pray I would continue to experience inner conversion, repentance, and step up to meet the world as the new creation in Christ I am. I pray I would recognize your forgiveness, acknowledge it, and live in it.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving-kindness: according to the multitude of your tender mercies blot out all my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquities, and cleanse me from my sins. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned, and done evil in your sight: so you will be justified when you speak, and be clear when you judge. Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden parts you shall make me know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness; so the bones which you have created may rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors your ways; and sinners shall be converted unto you. Deliver me from guiltiness, O God, my God of my salvation: and my tongue shall declare aloud your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips; and my mouth shall show forth your praise. For you desire not sacrifice else would I give it: you delight not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Do good in your good pleasure unto Zion: build the walls of Jerusalem. Then shall you be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon your altar. (Psalm 51)
May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (Ps. 19:14)
I pray I would relate to the opposite sex in godly ways, and flee from all forms of sexual temptation.
Thank you, for your steadfast love, for all the wonderful works you have done and are doing for me, for answering my prayers and being my salvation. (Ps 118:21) Thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world. Thank you for granting to me every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. Thank you for proving your love for me by sending Jesus. I receive him and all his life and all his work which you ordained for me. Thank you for including me in Christ, forgiving my sins, granting me his righteousness, making me complete in him. Thank you for making me alive with Christ, raising me with him, seating me with him at your right hand, establishing me in his authority, and anointing me with your love and your Spirit and your favor. I receive it all with thanks and give it total claim to my life.
Thank you for my family, for keeping us safe, for our health, and for healing us. Thank you for our commitment to one another, for your provision, protection, and faithfulness in our lives. Thank you for inviting us into your presence. I thank you with a humble heart. I pray this for myself and for all those I hope my prayers will reach. All to your Glory!
Dear Jesus, thank you for coming to ransom me with your own life, for dying on the cross for my sins, for forgiving my sins, and offering me the gift of eternal life.
God, my Father, in all I now pray I include everyone in my family and all whom you’ve placed under the influence of my prayers. I dedicate my family to you. I place each member of my family into your care and protection. I pray you would release your power of God to put a barrier of protection around me and them, to protect me and them from all danger, temptation, evil, bad influences, illness, and injury. I pray for your blessing on my family. I pray we would treat each other with love, respect, affection, and appreciation. Bless all my relationships. I pray I am the godly person you want me to be in all my relationships. I pray I would be the best possible spiritual influence for all whom I encounter and through all the things I encounter.
I pray I would joyfully worship you, I offer this day to you, all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings, I pray I would be sure to unite all my sufferings, disappointments, frustrations, inconveniences, and delays to the suffering of Jesus. With your help, I will be close to you in all I think, do, and say. Bless me indeed. I pray for opportunities to increase Jesus’ Kingdom and the wisdom to recognize the opportunities.
I pray your hand would be with me. I pray I would crave to spend time with you more than I crave spending time any other way. I pray I would trust you and increase my confidence in you. I pray I would be your good and faithful servant, the instrument in your hands of your choosing, humble or great. I have little confidence in my ability to set my priorities. I need you to set my priorities in the light of eternity.
my Heavenly Father, I ask you to apply the riches in Christ Jesus over my life and my family. I bring the blood of Christ once more over each one of us. Armor each of us with your armor. I put on the full armor of God: the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel, the helmet of salvation; I take up the shield of faith and sword of the Spirit, and I choose to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of your might, to pray at all times in the Spirit.
I pray I would be kept from evil, hard testing, and temptation. When I turn from you and allow myself to be tempted, draw me back, and give me the strength, grace, and wisdom to resist the temptation.
Prayer for the Salvation of Others
Lord, I pray you would teach me to yield myself to your Spirit as I pray for the salvation of those who do not know you. Holy Spirit, teach me to trust you as a living person who leads my life and my prayers. I long to see your power in my life just as the Apostle Paul did as he reached out to the lost (1 Corinthians 2:2-5). I thank you because you indwell, seal, sanctify, and empower me. You guide me, teach me, and pray through me. Help me to partner with you as I use your Word in praying for the salvation of my family, and friends. Make me sensitive to your promptings and teach me to partner with you in praying your Word over those who are searching for you.
Jesus, I want to prioritize prayer for others just as you did. You withdrew to lonely places to pray (Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16). You were faithful in intercession and even prayed whole nights. Teach me to be faithful in prayer. Help me to remember the lost when I pray [Bring before the Lord five unsaved people]. Show them the gift of eternal life is in you alone (Romans 6:23, John 3:16). Help me to be your witness and love them. Help me to show warm-hearted acts of kindness towards them. I know love comes from you (1 John 4:7). Help me to show love towards everyone I meet. Love always hopes and believes (Pray all of 1 Corinthians 13). Help me to be active in sharing my faith (Philemon 6). I thank you I can be your witness everywhere I go (Acts 1:8).
I thank you the darkness vanishes as I pray for the lost. Thank you for convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). I pray you will soften the hearts of [Name one-by-one others who do not know Christ]. Remove the spiritual blindness from their eyes, and help them to understand the truth about you. Bring them to repentance and salvation (Acts 3:19). I believe you are working in their hearts even as I pray. Help me to let my light shine before men, that they may see my good deeds and glorify my Father in heaven (Mathew 5:16). Help me to be your light in their lives.
For atheists, agnostics, and skeptics, I pray you will open their eyes to see the universe is yours and you are the infinitely most holy, perfect, all-knowing, ever-present, all-powerful God in Three Persons. I pray they would understand. I pray all these, plus those who have never heard of your plan for their life, and those who have rejected or ignored you, would repent, convert, and come to you. I pray for people who are struggling to embrace what it means to be an adopted son or daughter of Christ. I pray all my friends, neighbors, families, acquaintances, and colleagues will know the fullness of your love and care for them, even if I need to explain it to them.
I pray people who have drifted away from the church and are inactive, would somehow re-encounter Jesus in his church, even if it needs to be through my witness and testimony.
I pray for the end of the coronavirus pandemic and for all other sicknesses and diseases to end.
Jesus, during your ministry on Earth you showed your power and caring by healing people of all ages and stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual ailments. Be present now to people who need your loving touch because of COVID-19. May they feel your power of healing through the care of doctors and nurses.
Take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.
Dear Lord, I lift to you my concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.
God, as more people get sick, healthcare workers and first responders are working longer hours with fewer supplies and with more risk of contracting the new coronavirus themselves. Renew their energy and sustain them on long shifts. Bring your protection upon them as they work with patients. Multiply their supplies so they have the protective items needed to stay safe on the job.
Inspire and invigorate the research doctors developing better tests to diagnose the virus, create vaccines to prevent it, and identify protocols to eliminate the disease’s spread.
Father, we seek your wisdom daily. Be with people making decisions that affect the lives and futures of our families, communities, countries, and the wider world. I pray they communicate clearly, truthfully, and calmly — with each other and with the public — and their messages are received and heeded. May truth and empathy be the touchstones of people setting policies for our protection.
You have delivered us from similar deadly perils, and you will deliver us again. On you we have set our hope you will continue to deliver us, as we get help from the prayers of others. — 2 Corinthians 1:10-11 (NIV)
Holy Spirit, as families adjust to everyone being home as businesses and schools close, I ask you guide people in their new realities. Give spouses grace for each other. Prompt worn-out parents to speak words of kindness and encouragement to their children. Help children find creative ways to experience the beauty of all you have created and continue learning.
Jesus, I thank you for your faithfulness in how you have guided and equipped people in their jobs and have provided in the past. It can be scary and overwhelming not knowing how bills and obligations will be met or to not be able to provide for families. As people feel financial strain during the uncertainty, bring them comfort and peace, reminding them you are there for them. Provide for them in their times of need.
Lord, I am so grateful for all the people who continue to work each day so people can eat. I ask you bless and protect them as they serve. Give them the grace to handle disgruntled customers during supply shortages. Keep their bodies healthy as they unload and stock boxes of supplies. Keep their cars and trucks running smoothly as they deliver needed supplies and food people have ordered online. And please protect them all from contracting COVID-19.
Almighty God, I know everything is in your sovereign control. I ask you keep this new coronavirus from continuing to spread. Give government officials the ability to safely handle people arriving from other countries. Help people decide to stay home instead of traveling or going out needlessly. Holy Spirit, remind people to do all the things they should do to help prevent the virus from spreading, like washing, sanitizing, and wearing masks. And while it may be heartbreaking, comfort families as they decide to keep their distance from the elderly or other high-risk family members.
I pray the mess we have made of this planet would be cleaned up. I pray everyone would be properly fed, sheltered, clothed, and have access to clean water. I pray all injustice, war, murder, abortion, crime, pornography, lust, terrorism, violence, and hate would end.
I pray for the Middle East, especially Israel, and especially Jerusalem.
I pray for reasonable, balanced approaches to environmental concerns, for the discovery of non-polluting, inexpensive, energy sources, for the end of pollution of the air, water, and ground, and the end of noise and light pollution.
For self or others (change pronouns when praying with or for others)
Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, I pray I would relate to each of you in the ways appropriate to each person of Trinity.
My dear Lord Jesus, I come to you now to be restored in you, renewed in you, to receive your life and your love and all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day. I honor you as my Lord, and I surrender every aspect and dimension of my life to you. I give you my spirit, soul, body, heart, mind, and will. I cover myself with your blood. I need you. Give me the grace today to keep open the door of my life to you. I surrender to you as savior and submit to you as Lord. Continue to take control of my life and remain on the throne of my life. I love you, worship you, and trust you. I give myself over to you, to be one with you in all things. I receive all the work and triumph of your cross, death, blood, and sacrifice for me, through which my every sin is atoned for, I am ransomed, delivered from the kingdom of darkness, and transferred to your kingdom, my sin nature is removed, my heart circumcised unto God, and every claim being made against me is canceled and disarmed. With all of my family, I take my place now in your cross and death, dying with you to sin, to my flesh, to this world, to the evil one and his kingdom. I take up the cross and crucify my flesh with all its pride, arrogance, unbelief, and idolatry [and anything else I am currently struggling with]. I put off the old man. Apply to me and my family all the work and triumph in your cross, death, blood, and sacrifice; I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my life.
I receive you as my life, and receive all the work and triumph in your resurrection, through which you have conquered sin, death, judgment, and the evil one. Death has no power over you, nor does any foul thing. I have been raised with you to a new life, to live your life—dead to sin and alive to God. With my family, I take my place now in your resurrection and your life, and I give my life to you to live your life. I am saved by your life. I reign in life through your life. I receive your hope, love, faith, joy, goodness, truth, wisdom, power, and strength. Apply to me and my family, all the work and triumph in your resurrection; I receive it with thanks, and I give it total claim over me.
I sincerely receive you as my authority, rule, and dominion, my everlasting victory against Satan and his kingdom, and my ability to bring your Kingdom at all times and in every way. I receive all the work and triumph in your ascension, through which Satan has been judged and cast down. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to you, and you are worthy to receive all glory and honor, power and dominion, now and forever. With my family, I take my place now in your authority and in your throne, through which I have been raised with you to the right hand of the Father and established in your authority. I give myself to you, to reign with you always. Apply to me and my family all the work and triumph in your authority and your throne; I receive it with thanks and I give it total claim to my spirit, soul, body, heart, mind, and will.
I now pray you would bring your authority, rule, and dominion and your full work over my life today, over my family, home, my household, my work, and over all my domain. I ask you, Lord Jesus, to bring all your authority and your full work against every evil power coming against me or against anyone in my family, against every foul spirit, every foul power, and device. [I might need to name them—what has been attacking me?] Lord Jesus, cut them off in your Name; bind and banish them from me and my household and your kingdom now, in your mighty name, Jesus Christ. Also, bring your full work between each of us and every person, and allow only the love of God and only the Spirit of God between every person and us.
Thank you for the Spirits in your service. I ask you to summon them in your name, Lord Jesus, and instruct them to destroy all raised against me or against anyone in my family, to establish your Kingdom over us, to guard us day and night. I ask you to send forth the Spirits who serve you to raise prayer and intercession for me and my household. I pray you would call forth the kingdom of God throughout my home, family, household, and domain in your authority, Lord Jesus Christ, giving all glory and honor and thanks to you.
Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for coming. I love you, I worship you, I trust you. I receive all the work and triumph in Pentecost, through which you have come, you have clothed me with power from on high, sealed me in Christ, become my union with the Father and the Son, the Spirit of truth in me, the life of God in me, my counselor, comforter, strength, and guide. I honor you as Lord, and with my family, I fully give to you every aspect and dimension of my life—to be filled with you, to walk in step with you in all things. Fill me afresh, Holy Spirit. Restore my union with the Father and the Son. Lead me into all truth, anoint me for all of my life and walk and calling, and lead me deeper into Jesus today. I receive you with thanks, and I give you total claim to my life.
I ask you, Holy Spirit, to bring about inner conversion, repentance, and revival. I pray for repentance and revival all over the world, for some great, good, thing to bring universal turning to God, and moral awakening. I pray for everyone to worship Jesus as Lord, Savior, and God. With Jesus, I pray all Christians would be one with Him as He is one with the Father, so in peace and a united voice we may carry to the world the Gospel message.
I pray you would speak to me and guide me, I would hear when you speak, and I would have the mind of Christ. I pray you would fill me, have complete control over me, empower me totally, and give me the strength and grace to be holy. I pray you would give me the wisdom to desire the right things, show me all you want to show me about myself, what should change, how to change, and you would give me all I need to make the changes, like wisdom, strength, determination, and so on. I pray you would have control over my temperaments, anger, tone of voice, motives, thoughts, words, deeds, soul, spirit, and strength. I would seek God in every way with all my heart, soul, mind and strength, and you would come into every area of my life and each of my actions. I abandon myself without reserve to you, would be totally available to you, and you would transform me into the image of Jesus Christ. I pray the fruit, gifts, and charisms would be obvious in my life. I pray you would produce in me love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, largeness of heart, singleness of purpose. I pray I would have discipline, wisdom, and strength. I pray I would walk in the Spirit, walk by faith, not by sight, would have patience which can endure irritation, frustration, inconvenience, and delays, and I would deal with anger properly. I pray you would give me creative ideas. I pray you would reveal to me any sin areas in my life, and make me the kind of person you want me to be.
I pray I would learn to and want to pray for others and myself, and want to worship God at all times. Draw me to worship God. I pray I would have the strength and determination to continue to do the praying I need to do each day, make progress in prayer every day, I would step out in faith to take the time to pray as the priority of each day and trust you everything else in the day will be taken care of, including sleep. I pray I would have perseverance in all things but especially in prayer. I pray I would experience the power of prayer. I ask I would appreciate praying, worshiping, and studying the Bible alone, with my family, and with others.
I pray I would open my mind and heart to you, correctly understand what I read in the Bible, obey it, and let it direct my life. I pray I would soak in your Word, be excited about it, and would become very familiar with it, enough to get others excited about it.
I pray I would learn to articulate the Gospel straightforwardly and share with others my relationship with Jesus. I ask you, God, for all your Power to bring all to conversion, repentance, and a true, living, salvation faith in Jesus Christ. I believe you honor free will. You cannot force belief and faith, but you can influence, just as the enemy can influence. You may need to allow things to happen to get my attention. I ask you to protect all, through all those kinds of things and all other kinds of dangers and circumstances, but especially I ask you to protect those whom I know and hope my prayers will cover.
I pray I will be an authentic and humble witness to the joy of the Gospel, confident not in my abilities but in your Power and the power of the Message Itself. I pray I will deepen my relationship with Jesus Christ.
God, I pray I would know and experience your love, joy, and contentment, have confidence in your leading, draw closer to you, maintain a right relationship with you, and have confidence in my salvation.
I pray all my needs would be met in godly and positive ways, and I would have opportunities to grow spiritually and socially through fellowship, worship, and whatever other resources you have for me. I pray I would get along with everyone, as much as possible, without compromising anything you would not want me to compromise. I pray I would be quick to listen and slow to speak, I would offer my ears to others so I might truly listen, would give up my agenda in conversations, and join the conversation you have been having with others. I pray I would have the courage and wisdom to resist peer pressure.
I pray I and everyone will recognize our vocations and live them out gratefully and fully. I pray I would have the faith to listen to you, the courage to heed you, the strength to serve you, and the willingness to respond to your call. I pray I and all believers follow you in whatever capacity you call us. I pray for your wisdom and strength to handle more responsibilities and the resources to do what you have me do. I pray I would be guided to what you want me to do, the future would be opened for me, and I would be shown my next step. I pray I would take on the roles you want me to have in my family, I would move into the proper positions to serve others as you would have me serve, take on the battles you have for me, and respond to the needs around me.
I pray I would submit my gifts, strengths, and even weaknesses to line up with your design for my life and I would use them to serve you. I pray I would have the wisdom and discipline to use wealth effectively for the sake of your Kingdom. I pray I would not worry. Especially I pray I would not worry about finances. I pray I would have a servant’s heart. I pray I would have the wisdom to discern your will, to take advantage of opportunities to study subjects which will give me the skills needed to do your will, and to make decisions according to your will. I pray I would do my best in all things.
I pray I would learn to live by the principles you have set in place. For instance, I will reap what I sow, I need to sow to the Spirit and not to the flesh, and need to sow to good soil.
I pray I would dwell on what is true, honorable, just, pure, pleasing, commendable, excellent, of good report, and worthy of praise. I pray you would protect my mind and I would feed my mind on godly meditations. I pray I would have emotional stability, and spiritual strength, especially in times of attack. I pray I would have the wisdom to learn from hard times, suffering, and mistakes. I pray I would learn from and handle both success and failure. I pray I would have what I need to deal with the pressures of life. I pray I would reject ungodly, negative, and discouraging thoughts. I pray I would be discerning in my use of all media, use leisure time wisely, and have the wisdom to use all time wisely, prioritizing in the light of eternity.
I pray I would strive to acquire godly character. I pray I would grow to become loving, joyful, peaceful, a peace-maker, patient, kind, gentle, disciplined, pure of heart, sensitive of other’s feelings, humble, courageous, friendly, loyal, considerate, wise, resourceful, full of faith, trustworthy, persistent, honest, open, observant, strong, single-minded, positive, understanding, generous, healthy, intelligent, knowledgeable, compassionate, and teachable.
I pray I and all those I hope my prayers will cover would be protected from illness, physical harm, and all forms of abuse. I pray I and they would not misuse alcohol or any other drugs, will accept the bodies you have given us, and treat those bodies wisely, as temples of the Holy Spirit. I pray I and they would have healing for wounds of all kinds. I pray I and they would have wisdom and skill in driving. I pray I and they would be protected as we travel, no matter how we travel.
I pray a foundation for godly marriage would be built in my children’s lives. I pray we would be examples of a godly marriage in action. I pray we could help others grow in godliness. I pray we would be models of godliness and purity.
I pray I would be spiritually sensitive, speaking words of encouragement and sincere praise to those around me, and humbly accept encouragement and well earned praise. I pray I would have the strength, courage, and insight to be a friend to the friendless and a positive influence in my neighborhood. I pray I would have a heart of compassion for the less fortunate, the downcast, the marginalized, and anyone perceived as an enemy. I pray I would see Jesus fleshed out consistently in people I encounter, in those I minister to, and in any who minister to me. I pray I would recognize all my relationships as blessings. I pray I would have enjoyment, peace, and contentment in my work, in my family, in new as well as established relationships, in each new day, in healthy, physical recreation, in my thoughts, in my prayers, in my meditations, and the beauty of life.
I pray I would have the wisdom to appropriately respect and obey you and all others who have legitimate authority in my life. I pray those others would also respond to me with respect and love. I pray I would have wise counsel from people I trust. I pray I would properly respond to criticism. I pray I would have confidence from the knowledge of your love so I can communicate my thoughts and feelings effectively. I pray I would be understood by caring people and yet remember to seek to understand rather than seek to be understood.
I pray you would bless and empower your church. Strengthen the Body of Christ against all enemies. Strengthen and guide the leadership of the Catholic Church, all the bishops, Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, all pastors, teachers, missionaries, evangelists, and disciplers.
In the name of the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, I pray for your power to go out into the world to destroy the works of all those who oppose you.
11 of the 31 Spiritual Warfare Scriptures to Read, Pray, and Memorize (the rest at the bottom):
Dear God, please help me to submit to you, and help me to resist the devil so he will flee from me. From James 4:7
Dear God, St. John wrote to those he referred to as “little children”. Assuming he meant to address people like me, I would like to claim the verse and accept I have overcome because you are in me and are greater than he who is in the world. From I John 4:4
Dear God I live in the world, but St. Paul the Apostle wrote I do not wage war as the world does. The weapons I fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, my weapons have divine power to demolish strongholds. Please help me use these weapons to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and help me to take captive every thought and make each obedient to Christ.” From 2 Cor 10:3-5
God, please help me to be self-controlled and alert. St. Peter wrote my enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Please help me resist him, and stand firm in the faith.” From 1 Peter 5:8-9
Dear God, thank you no weapon formed against me will prosper; and every tongue accusing me in judgment I will condemn. You have declared “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from you,” From Isaiah 54:17
“I put on the full armor of God, so I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore I put on the full armor of God, so when the day of evil comes, I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. I stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness coming from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, I take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Eph. 6:11-17
- Thank you because, in all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me.” Rom. 8:37
- Thanks be to God, who gives me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:57
- You have said, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.” Zech. 4:6
- “But you, Lord, are faithful, and you will strengthen me and protect me from the evil one.” 2 Thess. 3:3
- Jesus, you have told me, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
